Mind how you use your words
cause they don’t just disappear
They sometimes sit in a tree
or dangle in the air
Waiting for an opportunity just to draw near.
They will hit you in the face
and cause you much disgrace.
They will stab you in your side
and if you’re not strong you might commit suicide

So do not tell your child
that he’s worthless or he’s a pest
cause those words will hold his hand
and frame his future quicker than you plan
Don’t tell your husband that he’s not a man
nor your wife that she’s looking like a drum pan
Cause those words will surely sit in the roof
and wait for the perfect time to slip in your room
You’ll soon be sorry you called her a drum
cause shop will be locked for more than a month

When you go to the market to sell
pray that everyone’s goods remove swiftly from the shelf.
The only good words ever spoken
is a prayer for all to be forgiven.
Remember not to wish bad for your neighbor’s children
cause those words are dangerous when spoken.
Never wish death on any man
cause you are not immortal you need a helping hand.

Don’t curse yourself for failing a test
or for not doing your best.
Don’t wish to be like someone else
just appreciate yourself
search within for your own strength
and work on it you’ll do better than you think
Don’t ever say a bad thing about you lips,
your eyes, your legs or your hips
those words will attached to every part you pick
and make them worse
you’ll regret the day you said it

Refrain from quarrel and from shouting
because those words are very cruel.
They will punch your heart
and tear your side without you even realize.
They will rush through your veins
and cause you much pain
and leaves behind a burning flame,
yes, you will be blamed
cause the bruise and the scares
will live on forever in your name.

So, my friends now you see
that words have ears, eyes, mouth and feet
Remember when you speak
use words that uplift the spirit.
Speak kind words and practice using them
and love will grow and spread into the hearts
of even your unforgiving friends.
And, if you can’t find a word that will make someone smile,
just give then a hug and be nice.
